Flucamed Capsules

Flucamed Capsules contain fluconazole, an antifungal medication used to treat various fungal and yeast infections. Fluconazole works by inhibiting the growth of fungi by disrupting their cell membrane formation.

Primary Uses:

1. Vaginal Candidiasis (Yeast Infection):

   • Used to treat yeast infections of the vagina caused by Candida species.

2. Oropharyngeal and Esophageal Candidiasis:

   • Treats fungal infections in the mouth (thrush) and esophagus caused by Candida.

3. Cryptococcal Meningitis:

   • Used in the treatment of fungal meningitis caused by Cryptococcus species, often seen in immunocompromised individuals, such as those with HIV/AIDS.

4. Systemic Fungal Infections:

   • Effective against systemic infections like candidemia, where yeast infects the blood, or other organs like the kidneys, heart, or lungs.

5. Prophylaxis in Immunocompromised Patients:

   • Fluconazole is used to prevent fungal infections in patients undergoing cancer treatments, bone marrow transplants, or those with HIV/AIDS, who are at higher risk for fungal infections.
