It contains two types of insulin: 30% regular (short-acting) insulin and 70% isophane (NPH, intermediate-acting) insulin. This combination helps to provide both a rapid onset of action and longer-lasting effects to help maintain stable blood glucose levels throughout the day.
Key Components of Disulin 30/70:
- Regular Insulin (30%): A short-acting insulin that begins to work within 30 minutes after injection, peaks in 2 to 4 hours, and lasts for about 6 to 8 hours. It helps to lower blood glucose levels quickly after meals.
- Isophane Insulin (NPH) (70%): An intermediate-acting insulin that begins to work within 1 to 2 hours, peaks in 4 to 12 hours, and lasts for about 12 to 16 hours. It provides a more gradual, sustained effect to help control blood glucose over a longer period.
