Because ergotamine accumulates in the body, you must follow strict daily and weekly dosage caps to prevent toxic blood vessel narrowing:
The Single-Attack Limit: Do not take more than 6 tablets for any single migraine attack.
The Weekly Limit: Do not take more than 10 tablets in any one single week.

A mild "pins and needles" or tingling sensation in your fingers and toes.

Can I take Cafergot alongside my regular triptan migraine medicines (like sumatriptan)?
No, you must never mix them. Both Cafergot and triptans work by narrowing the blood vessels in your head. Taking them together or too close apart can cause dangerous systemic blood vessel spasming. You must wait at least 24 hours after using Cafergot before taking any triptan medicine, and vice versa.
