Misopt is a combination ophthalmic solution used to manage elevated pressure inside the eye. It combines two active medications with different mechanisms of action: a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and a beta-blocker. This product is primarily indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure. It is used for:
Open-Angle Glaucoma: The most common form of glaucoma, where fluid does not drain properly from the eye.
Ocular Hypertension: A condition where the pressure in the eye is higher than normal, which can lead to optic nerve damage if left untreated.
Misopt lowers eye pressure in two ways:
Dorzolamide Hydrochloride: A carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that decreases the production of aqueous humor (the fluid inside the eye).

Wash Hands: Always wash your hands before applying eye drops.

The Tear Duct Technique: After applying the drop, press your finger against the corner of your eye (near the nose) for 1 to 2 minutes. This prevents the medicine from draining into your tear duct and entering your bloodstream.
Avoid Contamination: Do not let the tip of the dropper touch your eye or any other surface.
Wait Between Drops: If you use other eye medications, wait at least 10 minutes before applying the next product.
